Nike iD

In 2009, a Nike client approached R/GA to create one of the first in-app purchase iPhone applications. As an interaction designer, my responsibility was to develop the user flow and mockups based on the existing style guide. One of the major challenges was adapting the Nike iD sneakers customizer to fit the small mobile screen. At that time, mobile purchases were rarely done smoothly in iPhone apps (2008-09). I worked tirelessly with another interaction designer to create all the wireframes, and fortunately, we had a UI designer to handle most of the mockups.

Nike and R/GA took a significant step in designing the UX/UI and in-app purchase process. The coding and backend engineering were handled by Sapient in India, which led to a significant rise in offshoring development.
